Professional Development Stories
The ETS Sales and Retention team(s) recently attended a course for further developing their ‘sales skills’ on Tuesday 3rd April 2007.
All staff found the course very beneficial and are now looking forward to presenting ETS’s portfolio of services to its customers throughout Devon and Cornwall which should now focus more clearly on Employer’s specific training needs.
ETS now hopes to contract with 3 specific client groups in Apprenticeships. The (14-16) Young Apprentice, the (16-24) and (25+) Apprentice and the (16-24) and (25+) Advanced apprentice – more information on this from our recruitment department.

YA – Young Apprenticeships 14-16yrs
ETS were recently successful in gaining a contract for delivering Young Apprenticeship programmes in Business Administration.
Aimed at 14-16 year olds of good ability, the programme is for pupils who are attracted to a more ‘practical style’ of learning and who are keen to gain a taste of ‘real work’ in a supported way. The pupils are based in school and follow core National Curriculum subjects, but for two days a week (or equivalent) over a two year period they also work towards Nationally recognised qualifications in the workplace and spend 50 days in a fully supported work placement.
The ETS team responsible for delivering this programme, which rolls out in September 2007 consists of;
Maria Wing – YA Co-Ordinator, Emma Ackrill - Schools Liaison Officer, Julie Spiller – Senior Training/Assessor and Vicky Hodges – Placement/Retention Officer.
