If you are on retention ETS can:

ETS can liaise with your Employer regarding any issues that are concerning you.

If you are unhappy in your place of work, you could benefit greatly by discussing the reason with your Supervisor or Manager. If you do not feel comfortable about this, ETS is happy to liaise with your Employer to chat about your concerns and discuss options available for you.

ETS can help you look for work.

ETS has a variety of vacancies on its register. We can discuss your employment requirements and forward your details to any suitable vacancies. We can also contact companies that you may have a specific interest in on your behalf. Our contractual agreement with the Learning + Skills Council states that unemployed candidates are required to find an alternative work placement within 15 working days from the last day of previous employment, any candidate out of work after this deadline may have to be left from the scheme.

If you have found employment.

If you have found new employment, it is possible to transfer your programme to your new employer - this would be completely FREE OF CHARGE, if your role has changed we could amend your NVQ programme to meet your new chosen profession.

You can come to ETS.

The ETS office is open between the hours of 9am and 5pm; you can call in at any time to discuss the options and support available to you. If you cannot make it to ETS between these hours, it can be arranged that a member of staff can meet you at the office at a time suitable to you.

Portfolio support.

There are a number of assessors based at the ETS office alongside the Centre Co-ordinator. It can be arranged that you meet one of these people or your individual assessor at ETS to assist you in developing your portfolio.

Someone could meet you at a more relaxed location.

We are aware that at times it is difficult to get to ETS. Therefore we can arrange for your assessor or another member of the ETS team to visit you at a more relaxed location, to discuss support available and to assist you with your portfolio.

We can change your assessor.

It is possible to arrange for another Assessor to visit you; our Centre Coordinator will be pleased to discuss your requirements.

Someone can visit you more frequently

It is possible to arrange for someone to visit you more frequently - the NVQ will then take you less time. As suggested above, additional visits can take place at your workplace, at ETS, or at a more relaxed location.

We can adapt the NVQ to suit your needs.

Your assessor may be able to visit you during your lunch break, after work and/or can arrange for some observational visits to minimize interruption to your work. We can also modify your Individual Learning Plan to better suit your needs.
